LEED Certified Projects

Energy efficient and environmentally conscious design is a focus of the design industry and project owners alike.  The US Green Building Council’s  (USGBC) LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification system has become the standard in forward-thinking-design in the United States.  All of the Principals in The Ballard Group, Inc. are LEED Accredited Professionals, which means that they have a good understanding of the full requirements for attaining all levels of LEED Certification (Platinum, Gold, Silver, Certified). We have played a key role in the design of multiple LEED Certified Projects, with varying levels of certification, as well as continuing to design toward certification.  We  utilize many Innovative Design Strategies in all of our projects, whether they intend to go through the certification process or not, because we are fully committed to energy efficient and environmentally conscious design in all of our projects.

The level of LEED Certification is decided on by the project owner and architectural design team early in the design process.  Obtaining LEED Certification requires the design team to go above and beyond the normal building code requirements to achieve an energy efficient, sustainable structure.   For more information on the LEED Certification process or requirements, please visit USGBC's website.
