University & Higher Education

Higher Education facilities include multiple purposes and many times encompass many uses within one building. Additionally, while each campus maintains an individual architectural character they also tend toward the technological and ecological cutting edge with each building design, whether a new building, renovation or retrofit.

Older University Projects - Completed more than 10 year ago

Although older projects usually don't carry much weight in the fast-paced A/E design world, University/Higher Education buildings are used in a different way.  Although the building may be older it is likely still used for the same purpose it was originally built for.  Universities often keep buildings in use for decades, even centuries if the original construction stands up for it.  Money is often spend on remodels and system retrofits to maintain modernity in older buildings, but the buildings are rarely torn down to make way for an upgraded version.
