Denver Public Schools
Upgrades & Retro Fits
Across the District
The primary goal of the project was to provide cooling to 6 (Abraham Lincoln High School, Cole Middle School, John F Kennedy High School, Lake Middle School, Munroe Elementary School, and South High School) of the most problematic schools in the district while also upgrading mechanical equipment that was well beyond its expected life. South High School, Cole Middle School and Lake Middle School are historic sites constructed in the 1920s and some of the renovation scope required upgrades to systems installed with the original construction. The projects combined included a total cooling capacity 1,400 tons. The design of these schools also included enhanced sound mitigation strategies for chillers installed near residential areas.
