Principal

Tim Babb, Principal-in-charge, Project Manager, and Lead HVAC Engineer at the Ballard Group, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his role. Since joining our team in 2011, Tim has consistently demonstrated his meticulous attention to detail while continuously making significant contributions to our projects. Tim has been a licensed engineer in Colorado since 2015, further allowing him to gain exceptional experience in the field.

Collaborating closely with associate Principals, Tim plays a pivotal role in coordinating projects to ensure consistent and innovative mechanical system designs. He works hand in hand with architects and owners at every stage of project development, from assessments and master planning to Schematic Design and Construction Documents. Tim's involvement extends to providing valuable support to contractors during the Construction Administration phase. His project experience spans various types, including plan and spec projects, construction manager/general contractor (CMGC) projects, design-build projects, and projects where The Ballard Group serves as the prime consultant.

With a primary focus on the K-12 market, Tim closely collaborates with school district staff to ensure projects align with budgetary constraints and meet the requirements of maintenance staff, even in the absence of official technical specifications. His portfolio encompasses a range of K-12 projects, including new-builds, architectural renovations, additions, and mechanical equipment replacements or retrofits, such as central heating and cooling plant upgrades.

Beyond the K-12 sector, Tim has also made significant contributions to projects in various other markets. These projects include Higher Education/University facilities, Recreation Centers, Religious Worship facilities, Medical Office Buildings, and Office Buildings. His versatility and expertise extend across multiple sectors, enabling him to deliver outstanding results in diverse project environments.
